Environmental risk design (CPTED)

Environmental Risk Design (CPTED) uses architectural and psychological principles to “design out” crime. By optimizing site layouts, natural surveillance, and territorial boundaries, we create spaces that inherently discourage criminal intent while remaining open and welcoming for legitimate users. It is the science of making a property a hard target through smart infrastructure rather than visible barriers.

The three core pillars

  • Natural Surveillance: Maximizing visibility through strategic lighting and clear sightlines to ensure intruders feel “watched.”
  • Access Control: Using landscaping and structural flow to naturally guide visitors and highlight unauthorized movement.
  • Territorial Reinforcement: Creating a clear sense of ownership that signals a well-managed, high-risk environment for offenders.

Protect what matters most.

We use strategic spatial layout, lighting, and natural surveillance to create environments that discourage criminal intent while fostering a sense of community and safety.
